What This Reference Provides
Illinois arrest and booking information can be public, but the record may live with the Logan County Sheriff, a city police department, the jail, the Circuit Clerk, the Illinois Department of Corrections, or a federal locator. The hard part is matching the question to the right custodian. Logan County Busted Mugshots gathers those official paths, explains what each system can show, and identifies where a written records request is needed.
The Logan County Sheriff creates or holds county booking material and directs current custody questions to VINElink. Lincoln, Atlanta, and Mount Pulaski police can hold their own arrest reports. The courts hold what happens after booking. IDOC holds state-prison information. The pages point to those offices instead of presenting copied faces or unverified claims as official records.
What You Can Find Here
The county source map is arranged around the questions people usually need answered:
- The home page combines booking records, VINElink custody checks, sheriff releases, FOIA requests, Illinois law, state DOC routing, court records, and correction steps.
- Sheriff's Most Wanted explains the absence of a current public roster, Crime Stoppers tips, and safe warrant-check contacts.
- Mugshots in the News compares the sheriff, city, newspaper, television, and historical third-party sources.
- The Lincoln, Atlanta, and Mount Pulaski pages describe each police department, booking path, local coverage, and records-request route.
- Supporting information explains how to request a county booking record or photograph and how court orders can affect copied records.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference service. It is not connected to the State of Illinois, Logan County, the sheriff, Logan County Jail, any city police department, or a corrections agency.
- It cannot confirm live custody, release a person, or transfer anyone.
- It cannot post bond, schedule a visit, or send money.
- It cannot pull an official booking record or change a court docket.
- It cannot give legal advice or guarantee that an address, phone number, fee, or web page remains current.
Only the originating agency, jail, court, or corrections department can confirm current status and official records. Use the links as directions, then verify the answer with that office.
Search Partner Disclosure
Some pages include search boxes supplied by outside providers. Those providers set their own prices, terms, results, and data practices. If a visitor follows a partner tool into a paid signup, Logan County Busted Mugshots may receive a referral fee. That arrangement helps support the reference service, but it does not make the provider a government source and does not give this service control over the tool.
