Logan County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or pull official booking records. The sheriff, jail, police department, court, or corrections agency must answer those questions directly.
Official Logan County Contacts
Use the contact that matches the record. The sheriff and jail do not answer every police or court question, and a live custody question is different from a request for a past booking file.

The sheriff's FOIA page says the form is optional if a written request reasonably describes the records. The first 50 black-and-white pages are free, and most responses are made within five business days, with a possible statutory extension. Ask the office to confirm current details before sending a time-sensitive request.
Where to Look for Each Answer
These routes point to the source most likely to hold the information:
- For a booking record or photo, use the county booking and FOIA path, then ask the sheriff or the originating police department.
- For current county custody or a release notification, use Illinois VINElink or call Logan County Jail.
- For a warrant or public court case, contact the Logan County Circuit Clerk at 217-735-2376 or use the Judici case search. The Sheriff's Most Wanted page explains the county's lack of a current public wanted roster and safe tip contacts.
- For a Lincoln police report or city-held photo, use Lincoln Police FOIA, foia@lincolnil.gov, 710 5th Street, or 217-732-2151.
- For an Atlanta police record, contact Atlanta Police at 217-648-2373 or the city's FOIA liaison, Monica Baker, at 217-648-2351, City Hall, 102 NW Vine Street.
- For a Mount Pulaski police record, contact Chief Tony West at TonyWest@cityofmtpulaski.com or 217-792-5018, 614 N. Topper Drive. The city FOIA route uses P.O. Box 45.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Illinois Department of Corrections search. For federal custody, use the BOP locator. For immigration custody, use the ICE locator.
Records Requests Need Detail
Give the custodian a full name, date of birth if known, arresting agency, approximate arrest or booking date, case or booking number if known, and the exact record requested. Ask for a booking record and photograph as separate items. The agency can confirm that no responsive record exists, explain a redaction, or identify another custodian.
A booking photo is not guaranteed to be public. Juvenile rules, sealed or expunged cases, FOIA exemptions, court orders, investigative concerns, medical information, and other laws can limit release. A public web page with no photo does not prove that the agency never created one.
